We all should come together...India wants a dream

‘Gandhi’s dream of India has slowly gone to pieces on certain issues...we all should come together...India wants a dream’ VP Singh
VP Singh started many remarkable things. One, he ended one-party rule. Two, he ensured that whoever has to rule Delhi has to give a say to Patna, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Third, with the help of a man called Mandal, he started a process of social and political engineering that still goes on. He spoke with Shekhar Gupta, Editor-in Chief, The Indian Express. * Walk the talk--VP Singh

Mr VP Singh, through his transparency, honesty, simplicity & creativity has left an indelible mark on the Indian Polity & Society. He must leave behind his ideas & thoughts in print form as to the times he has lived through & the Dream of India that he dreams of, for the posterity. His prose, poetry & a plethora of drawings & paintings testify to his immense creativity in the face of terminal illness which he has braved all these years. In making his illness manifest his hidden creativity, he has made the most of his adversity, unlike most of us. May God give him a long life so that he can accomplish his unfinished task for the posterity, is a prayer of a humble fellow countryman. Posted by: kishan singh, Belgium, 05-07-2005 at 1909 hours IST
* He deserves adoration
It is time that all those who demonised Shri V P Singh, including The Indian Express, should say their apologies to him. An angel among the present day politicians, his words need to be taken seriously, if we want a humane society. He was the last Prime Minister with popular authorisation. After him we have had only compromise-Prime Ministers. Let us lend support to his frail voice so that the FINAL he dreamt for becomes possible. Posted by: Tusar N.
