What Ambedkar has done for the freedom struggle

In his book, Worshipping False Gods, Arun Shourie challenges Dr Ambedkar's contribution to Indian Independence. The book has already run into controversy and several dalit organisations in Maharashtra want it banned. rediff.com
Ambedkar's public life begins in a sense from a public meeting held at the Damodar Hall in Bombay on March 9, 1924. The struggle for freeing the country from the British was by then in full swing. Swami Vivekananda's work, Sri Aurobindo's work, the Lokmanya's work had already stirred the country. Lokmanya Tilak had passed away in 1920. The leadership of the National Movement had fallen on Gandhiji. He had already led the country in the Champaran satyagraha, the Khilafat movement, in the satyagraha against the Rowlatt Act, against the killings in Jallianwala Bagh and the merciless repression in Punjab. This National Movement culminated in the country's Independence in 1947.
In a word, a quarter century of Ambedkar's public career overlapped with this struggle of the country to free itself from British rule. There is not one instance, not one single, solitary instance in which Ambedkar participated in any activity connected with that struggle to free the country. Quite the contrary--at every possible turn he opposed the campaigns of the National Movement, at every setback to the Movement he was among those cheering the failure. 1. What is the contribution of Arun Shourie in freeing of India?

Ambedkar wanted first to have social freedom, and later political freedom.
Gandhi, Tilak etc. were not willing to fight for social freedom.
In Indian context, social freedom is/was most important than political, if u go thru the India's past history. Arun Shouri has wrote the book due his hatred towards Ambedkar. By doing this, he got good support and earnings from Brahmin political leaders.

  2. even a child can say that "freedom of Humanity" (from the 3000 years old rules of Purusha Sukta and Manusmriti superstitions) is more important than "freedom of Nation"(from 250 years rule of English rulers).
by the way they said so-called "shudra" are not eligible to learn/educate.
But they could not surpass the education of

    Dr.Ambedkar

    1. Acquiring degrees has nothing to do with intellect and excellence. Ambedkar was a narrow minded person and Arun Shouri's analysis is perfectly correct. 👎👎

  5. Ambedkar was nothing withought gandhiji. If gandhiji had not opposed ambedkar he would not got serious attention, nobody would expected his demands. Gandhiji was great politician who didn't work to get renown he even pretend himself as anti-dalit to show that reservation is a serious thing he actually made higher caste people fool. That is why rss hates Gandhiji. It was a master plan of Gandhi and ambedkar

  6. He has more to do for his people rather than freedom struggle. As no one is ready to take care of those people, even after Independence, they didn't have independence. he did the greatest part. Every one of the figures did their greatest parts in framing up India. While the extremists and uneducated people, without even knowledge to read the books before writing nonsense, posting these type of posts.
