We must decolonize our mind just as we need to discard models of development and empowerment that are inspired by the West and bear no connection to the reality of the Indian situation. Defining the Indian mind in an era of unipolar world is no easy task. There is no single principle, formula or panacea that can be applied in a uniform or dogmatic manner. The approach requires imagination, critical intelligence and flexibility. As suggested in this article, Sri Aurobindo provides many answers. It is time we made a beginning in the light of his approach.
