Flood of transforming influence pours

"All fanaticism is false because it is a contradiction of the very nature of God and of Truth." -Sri Aurobindo, 23.10.39.
Clearly, this includes Hindu fanaticism too.
Let's not make a virtue of it.
https://twitter.com/MakrandParanspe/status/1228735638783983616?s=19
Practise your own faith & traditions so that they become strong & sensible--as Swami Vivekananda did--rather than being a fanatic yourself. You claim others are destroying Hinduism. To defend yourself, you become unHindu & fanatic? Then you'll become just like those you oppose.
https://twitter.com/MakrandParanspe/status/1229071665486684160?s=19
Hope by "all forms of God" includes Islamic, Christian & other forms of worship? Then you wouldn't be a fanatic, Sir. Let us remain Sanatanis, no? Rather than becoming the mirror image of the worst of those we're trying to oppose.
https://twitter.com/MakrandParanspe/status/1228877511729143808?s=19
Sir, I hope you're aware that your tweet itself is an eloquent example of what you claim doesn't exist: to say that a Hindu can NEVER be a fanatic is a statement typical of a fanatic. Your bullying aggression is divisive of the very Hindu unity that you seem to seek.
https://twitter.com/MakrandParanspe/status/1229016194755121152?s=19
"We don't even know who Gandhi is!! Instead of making Gandhi an external ghost, look at the ghost of Gandhi within yourself. We need stop blaming Gandhi for our problems." profound words from @MakrandParanspe today at a session on Sri Aurobindo & the idea of India @Gnostic_Centre
https://twitter.com/psitsgayatri/status/1228961873455874048?s=19
Sri Aurobindo is hugely misappropriated by a fringe political wing begging votes in his name. His nationalism was universal and pluralistic which binds whole humanity in one cord. ABVP doesn't even aspire to reach this goal
https://twitter.com/Nimai_Swain/status/1229473225584693249?s=19
The solution is in doing one's work selflessly and letting the Divine do His work. If people choose to play the games of padre and pundit, it is only themselves to be blamed.

It is not entirely appropriate to place Sri Aurobindo in the category of "English" literary figures. Just coz he wrote using English doesnt mean his works belong in the English literary tradition or canon. His major works flow from a yogic consciousness & that is their TRUE value

Am happy the philosophy departments ignore Sri Aurobindo, if by malice or ignorance doesn’t bother me...because all that Sri Aurobindo wrote was from experience and not a mere philosophy..would be a categorical error if we applied the term philosopher to Sri Aurobindo
The Vedic Rishi wouldn’t call himself a philosopher, a dealer of mental ideals and possibilities..I don’t mean to discount utility of philosophers and philosophies...after all they accustom the common mind to higher things..but the Dharmic types are all about experience if we see
Hardly any..the last 200 or even 300 years have thrown up tremendous beings..Paramahamsa, Vivekananda, Tagore, Bharathi and more..but, in my view, none approached the ideal of the Veda..all played with its peripheries including Shankara...only Master got there and more...
Sir, because it would deprive us and humanity the purpose and utility of his works. If approached as philosophy, one views it as a possibility and nothing more, one remains poor and miserable. Approach it as one of many attainable statuses and all is an adventure..
How we are ready to receive His aid and influence is the determinant Sir..he doesn’t seem to have limitations and labels..a patient flood of transforming influence pours in His vicinity..and am not content to partake it with a spoon...
Yes, I adore Master but the adoration is not blind...one can lay out microscopic details of how this seems to work...as shown thus far!!
Sir..aware to extent shown thus far..and also sense of being the arrow that slays an issue...each of us do it, whether consciously or aligned to and at what proportion is issue...yet all good Sir 🙏

Hence, the Kavi of the Veda and his utterances will always elude the linguist, philologist and every other mental tool of inquiry and examination, though they have their limited utility; the Seer-Poet soared borne by a flame of aspiration, so should they who wish to study them.

But honestly speaking, today there is no place or very limited scope for classical communism. Today Haves aren't factory owner & havenots aren't factory worker, thus. However, today Communism has undergone change, thus we have Neo Marxism. Many ideas hold good, today in many form

If we look closely at India, we will find, we have adapted, what Andre Gunder Frank, German-American economic historian & Samir Amin, Egyptian-French Marxist economist proposed & were chief exponents of Dependency Theory. Thus everyone adapting the old, in some new form+++.

The Modern Age (and Mind) is in a state of decay and degeneracy. The "rational pursuit of self interest", once conceived as the foundation of liberty, has now decayed into narcissism and "the culture of narcissism" -- Mr. Trump being its apotheosis.
https://twitter.com/fourfoldvision/status/1229464228257361920?s=19
1st error here: the "rational" and efficient were assumed to be equivalent to the moral and the ethical. The crisis of ethics shows this is not true, and "post-rational" (or "irrational exuberance") already shows up that dubious equivalency. /1
2nd error: this "self" or "selfhood" never really understood itself at all, and is now in a state of confusion and perplexity about itself, confusing itself with what is only image and self-image (largely constructed by propaganda, too). /2
So, the whole principle of "the rational pursuit of self-interest" (otherwise called "classical British liberal values") is in a state of crisis, and is no longer considered a sure and certain guide to the "good life".

Interesting study on the persistence of misinformation, people are influenced by incorrect information even after it has been corrected and they believe the correction:

Why pick on one person?

Probably the biggest damage done by the BJP-RSS fanboys is spreading total defeatism and negativity in Hindu ranks. They have thoroughly run down Hindu confidence, undermined their courage, and tried to create a self-fulfilling prophecy of another partition in the next 50 years.
https://twitter.com/maidros78/status/1222703899187929088?s=19
Inflating Muslim numbers, making Hindus think that they will become a minority in the next 50 years, playing up Islamist power in the streets, and insisting Hindus are finished, and that voting BJP can only delay the inevitable demise of Hinduism in India. All of which are false.

One of the biggest misconceptions Hindutvavadis have is that most average H don't know M rulers were evil and need to be told endless dreary stories to show that they more. What H need to be the told about & what Hindutvavadis themselves need to be told about is pre-Islamic India
https://twitter.com/ArmchairPseph/status/1155090335162179585?s=19
The biggest barrier to H political identity is the lack of pride or prestige associated with the 'Hindu' label, which itself comes from being told by both Hvadis and secularists that their ancestors were losers.

Most people know that the numbers we use today originally came from India. But very few people wonder how the words that we use for these numbers came to be. Are they just random? No.

In this thread, I will argue why it is so. I will develop a theory for how these words arose. https://t.co/kZXkesb1at
https://twitter.com/vakibs/status/1139589009422901251?s=19

Rajaji was first one to moot / accept this - then Sardar Patel - n then किसी ... n still would not have happened in CWC but for the intervention by your Mahatmaji, sir. So stop peddling these inane innuendo please, sir.

And @PMOIndia may like to read this book by someone who certainly can't be accused of being a "Nehruvian "Liberal": https://t.co/qMuufWR5nx
Shri Arun Shourie extensively quoted from this book - in defending book by Shri Jaswant Singh who was expelled from BJP for that - allegedly upon the demand by a certain BJP CM! Here is a sample: https://t.co/iIrycpoule
..
HVS:
Patel was so fed up with League’s tactics in interim govt that he saw endless intrigue/troubles ahead in working with League, so it was better to have a clean separation rather than pinpricks everyday. Nehru too had lost all hopes of a joint action with the Muslim League.
AS:
Sheshadri’s book is not the only one that documents lapse of Congress leaders. Prof RC Majumdar nailed lapses in his lectures published by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, and in his "History of the Freedom Movement in India"...2
..2
All these books and many more can be stretched to cast the same doubts on the role of Patel, as one of principal leader of Congress...
agree... but why pick on one person?
yes; agree.. their fault was not taking this - partition based on religion (Cong was party too that) - to its logical end.
https://twitter.com/gopimaliwal/status/1225367715981848576?s=19

Absolutely. The usual half-literate intellectuals try to make a distinction between "nationalism" and "patriotism" based on something Orwell wrote—and of course, they didn't have the patience to read his full essay.
https://t.co/hQZvJhlFxu
https://twitter.com/sandipanthedeb/status/1210078193379528704?s=19
Then they quote Tagore. Tagore wrote so much that he can be quoted to suit anyone. Eg: "(Christianity and Islam) have distinct enmity against all other religions. They are not just satisfied with observing their own religions, but are determined to destroy all other religions."
"The Muslims cannot confine their patriotism to any one country. I had frankly asked them whether in the event of any Mohammedan power invading India, they would stand side by side with their Hindu neighbours to defend their common land. I was not satisfied with the reply I got."
https://twitter.com/sandipanthedeb/status/1210080730954399744?s=19

Another tiring quote. People like Gandhi and Tagore spoke and wrote so much that they can be quoted to try to prove any point at all. Here's one from Tagore (next tweet) that is "clear evidence" that he hated the Abrahamic religions. 1/2
https://twitter.com/sandipanthedeb/status/1217340599646355456?s=19
"There are two religions in earth, which have distinct enmity against all other religions. These are Christianity and Islam. They are not satisfied with observing their own religions, but are determined to destroy all other religions.” Works. Vol 24, Pg 375, Vishwa Bharti; 1982.

Tagore was so much concerned about ecology and its direct relationship with freedom! "Re-reading Tagore to Become Human" by Aseem Shrivastava raises some grave questions in the Freedom Issue of @Openthemag https://t.co/y3Mcogrk7B
https://twitter.com/vibhuarora/status/1029387989493972992?s=19

“The danger to us is not so much external as internal. Reactionary forces & communal organizations are trying to disrupt the structure of free India. They do not realize that if disruption comes they will also be swept away” Nehru in 1947. Echoes also of Tagore’s view.
https://twitter.com/kaushikcbasu/status/1223072307951886336?s=19

Mahatma Gandhi, in a statement addressed "To Gujaratis", 14 January 1948:
"All Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Parsis, Christians and Jews who people this country have an equal right to it. No one can say that it has place only for the majority and the minority should be dishonoured."
https://twitter.com/Ram_Guha/status/1217044732284526595?s=19

It was only Manmohan Singh who tried to change the words of Mahatma Gandhi, saying that Muslims have the first right to the resources of India, and the Dimmis have to be contended with what the Muslims give them. But he could not do that.
https://twitter.com/mvnair212/status/1217045624366891008?s=19
