- Politics need not knowingly slip into the slime and squalor of an endless debasing debate and deliberation.
- Our political and other institutions are under siege by round-the-clock cable TV onslaught in the name of transparency.
- Free speech does not mean freedom to abuse and misinform.
- Subtlety of style and form is now almost extinct as far as the national political dialogue is concerned.
- The establishment of truth should be our primary duty. Not the display of the nastiest emotions — envy, vanity, greed and jealousy.

- What about using leisure to enjoy life and not aim at squalid intrigue and loathsome verbal over-kill.
- Why this penchant for building edifices of lies.
