The two-day annual conference of the Sri Aurobindo Society (Hindi speaking areas) was inaugurated this morning by a galaxy of luminaries in a solemn function held in the Sri Aurobindo Bhawan, Noida (UP).
- Shri Om Prakash Dani, Chairman of the Sri Aurobindo Society, Noida Branch welcomed the dignitaries as well as the delegates.
- Shri Vijay Poddar, Chairman of the Sri Aurobindo Society (Hindi speaking areas), emphasized upon the role of Sri Aurobindo’s thought fashioning the future world events. He also introduced the guests and spoke about their specific contributions in furthering this thought movement.
- Shri Hari Shankar Singhania, Chairman, JK Organization made an impassioned appeal to wake up to the immortal voice of Sri Aurobindo in order to serve the cause of Eternal India.
- Dr Abid Hussain, in his inimitable eloquence, delineated the salient aspects of Sri Aurobindo’s life to bring home the point how important is his message for the future of humanity.
- Dr L.M. Singhvi, nostalgically, recalled his association with Shri K.M. Munshi and his recent experiences in installing Sri Aurobindo’s statues in three different locales.
- Shri Shivraj Patil, Union Home Minister and the Chief Guest, spoke at length on the focus on Unity in Sri Aurobindo’s thought in contradistinction to the prevailing psychosis centering around an impending clash of civilizations. In a candid but forceful tone he claimed that Sri Aurobindo’s teachings has the power to heal the divisions we confront and bring peace and harmony to the whole humanity.
- His Excellency Shri Triloki Nath Chaturvedi, Governor of Karnataka, who presided over the session, recounted the famous Three madnesses and Five dreams of Sri Aurobindo to highlight how his whole life and thought was dedicated to human emancipation.
- Shri Suresh Chandra Tyagi, Secretary of the Sri Aurobindo Society, Noida Branch, moved the vote of thanks and, very poignantly, invoked The Mother’s Grace too. # posted by Tusar N Mohapatra : 5:23 PM
