Democracy rejects history by choice

Collated by Tusar Nath Mohapatra (b. 1956), President, Savitri Era Party (2007) and Founder, Savitri Era Religion (2006)

Leaders can't afford to contradict themselves in a democracy without offering an explanation for a change of stance or logic. They also can't be self-referential for credibility. That's why we need independent courts, autonomous academia & free media, whichever party is in power
Bias is an ethical problem, not a legal one. Banning one propaganda raises questions on other forms of propaganda. Isn't democracy about having access to all sorts of propaganda & deciding for yourself which is relatively more credible? #BBCDocumentary
Voters are not really on Twitter. They are on Instagram or WhatsApp. But the problem is that they discuss between themselves what is on Twitter. Including what they are fighting over and why. Democracy finds strange ways.
Replying to
Democracy rejects history by choice. Else we would not be fighting dynasties. Democracy is a value. The angle is by conscious choice. The idea is to transcend tradition.
A citizen needs to respect democracy and extend his support to the popularly elected leader. He has also the duty of criticising wrong steps of the govt. Since playing both the roles is not, ordinarily, possible, people toe the party-line and succumb to intellectual dishonesty.
"Having different opinions is so 20th Century. This century, we have different facts." —Douglas Murray
Replying to
Different facts = Fascism or Authoritarian Dictatorships, so I think it also existed in the 20th Century. The difference is that we now have social media, an explosion of propaganda that cannot be contained.
