Secularism, religion, and the public sphere

Late last week, in response to the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, Craig Calhoun initiated a series of reflections here at the SSRC. His post at The Immanent Frame was followed by contributions from Mark Juergensmeyer, Nermeen Shaikh, Mehrzad Boroujerdi, and Ainslie Embree. Today this series continues, with a post by John Esposito on Pakistan "After Bhutto": http://www.ssrc.org/blogs/immanent_frame/category/ the_assassination_of_benazir_bhutto/.
We encourage you to read and comment on these and other posts at The Immanent Frame, the SSRC's new blog on secularism, religion, and the public sphere: http://www.ssrc.org/blogs/immanent_frame/. All the best,
