Not using right spellings for proper names, we disrespect, and perpetuate ignorance. Let's use diacritics: will equalize scripts. Czechs, Poles and other free people do.
Not Raman रमन् Effect but Rāman.
Cauvery is कौवेरि;  so Kāverī.
Can't we rationalize spellings?

Sorry, Hindiwalas, we are tolerant towards Hindi pronunciation, but strictly, it is deviant. The whole world says "yoga" (& "Buddha" etc.) because that is the Sanskrit original. Fussing against this is proverbial Cow Belt provincialism. https://t.co/QXSPECWq3D

Sorry, Dr. Elst, the world might pronounce Yoga, Veda, Rama as yogA, vedA, rAmA, buddhA- but that tendency of ending with the long and tense “A” consonant is as if not more deviant (from Sanskrit).
In Sanskrit, the terminating sound for these is (ः) - rAmaH, yogaH etc., and... https://t.co/F4m1WbPZLP

Although RW stalwarts keep on denigrating Secularism and Liberalism, their own value system owe much to these all pervading ideals. Sri Aurobindo brought out hidden meanings of Vedic deities which proclaim a progressive attainment of lofty ethical goals by the mankind as a whole.

Sir secularism in itself is what we should ideally practise.religion should only be internal, mystic in nature.but we have made religion an external display of ritualistic discipline.and moreover, religion shld never be a tool of power projection, state shld be strictly secular.

None of the revolutionaries from Bengal find place in the NCERT revision, except Aurobindo Ghose. Nothing further on Netaji and INA either. Modifications by BJP GoI. https://t.co/Gx5waIpLS5
Dear @MamataOfficial BJP GoI’s revisions to NCERT books seems to have no augmentations on Bengal revolutionaries and the INA (except Aurobindo Ghose, not sure how much of his revolutionary past mentioned). WB GoV need 2 demand change https://t.co/aqAGMeeGpb

BJP has always tried to demean the revolutionaries of Bengal as well as the influence of Jugantar Samity and Anushilan Samity.
Congress has done the same. I am not sure how much the state board history syllabus is updated as well.

CPIM subtly undermined Bengal revolutionaries too, as none of the revolutionaries of Bengal emerged from their ranks (revolutionaries joined CPIM after being forced to end their revolutionary activities due 2 long persecution in British jails) https://t.co/obK6UHcw5I

In our Dharma column
Making ahimsa non-negotiable was one of the biggest blunders ever made in Hindu society

NCERT has only added portrait oF Kittur Chennamma& NONE of southern hindu kings including glorious vijayanagara empire, Musunuri Nayakas,Cholas,Pandyans, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas,Nayakas of Ginghee etc whose involvement in saving dharma were 2nd to none have found place either

[In 1808 August Schlegel (1772-1829) published his famous book titled "on the Language and Wisdom of the Indians." Friedrich Rückert (1788-1866) made a name for himself with the translation of "Mahabharata" legends. Goethe, Schopenhauer and Nietzsche also mention Sanskrit works.]

Who is 'us' here? Speak for yourself. My English is as good as, if not better than Tharoor, and I studied in a Marathi medium government school in a village in Goa. English is just a language, not a measure of your intelligence!

Beside feeding on the propaganda media and hate mongerers, try getting news from normal sources.
You will also come to know of many things.
Renaming and marketing and claiming credit is an ART.....that this govt has mastered...and nobody in the WORLD can beat them in this
Anybody...just anybody....OTHER than Swarajya/Opindia/Shefali/Sonam/Anshul/Govt Departments/Ministers etc
Entire Social Media other than the IT cell has gone against them.... for stagnant GDP growth and exports, job scenario and no progress in their pet projects like

Many fears about Modi have proved to be unfounded during the last four years. Democracy has surely climbed a few notches above with his "performance" complete with costumes. Not economic indicators but the chaos factor (Irani in HRD to one paisa relief) is a pointer for freedom.

Most of us know of the famous zoologist who perhaps, a little prematurely, thought he had "arrived" at the far shore of Biology & began to spend the rest of his time charging at windmills & destroying strawmen. Did any worthwhile philosophy of science come out after the Blind Watchmaker & the Selfish Gene, one wonders. Anyways.
The ancients oft said that even those rare prodigies who directly reached "the culmination of knowledge" & found no use for the steps which got them to that point had likely acquired the supporting knowledge in earlier births
Perhaps actions cud b compared to a raft. The raft ferries one across the river of life to the far shore. So 1 is ever thankful to the raft. Of course, 1 shouldn't get more attached to the raft than the far shore itself, but doesn't mean U prematurely jump off the raft midstream!
Rowing the raft day in and day out is certainly not glamorous work. Just like most day-to-day science - endless hours of observations & painstaking data gathering! But that alone ultimately culminates into real science & some day into the philosophy of science. It is only logical

On this day in 1909, Sri Aurobindo gave his famous Uttarpara speech in which he talked about his communion with God during a jail sentence he served during India's freedom struggle.
